How I started...

This is a story of how I started skateboarding. In the beginning I had a few boards. I of course started with an off brand, probably wal-mart, skateboard when I was really young. I wanted to do all the things I saw my friends and some older kids do. I wasn’t any good at skateboarding. I couldn’t even ollie. About a year went by and I blamed it on the skateboard.

So I got my mommy to buy me a tony hawk board from the local sports store. I didn’t know much at all at the time! The board was way too big for me and I still stank at skateboarding. Even worse I now had to listen to my mom complain about all the money we spent and I barely used it. That was the problem. I wasn’t getting anywhere since I barely used it. I really didn’t know anything.

More time went by and my board sat there. I gave up eventually, but I guess my mom didn’t know that. One Christmas she bought me a whole new Think skateboard. This one sat there too. For about a year and a half. One day my cousin finally talked me into going out skateboarding. He wasn’t any good either at the time.

We were inside on a nice day and we were playing playstation and we needed some fresh air I guess. I don’t know what happened, but something clicked with both of us that weekend. We probably spent twenty hours skateboarding in those two days alone. It became really bad after that. We would break curfew just to go out and get some skating in.

We would sneak out of the house. We would walk from one house to the neighborhood. This was a far walk too. Could take half an hour atleast just to skate. We would set alarms so we could get up at the crack of dawn to get skateboarding in. It was crazy. We loved it so much. When we took breaks from skating we played tony hawks pro skater and looked at skate magazines. It was non-stop skateboarding.

Anyways. After a while I met more people who liked skating and it’s been a big part of my life ever since. I don’t skate as much now as I would like to, but I try to as much as I can. Skateboarding has brought some of the best times of my life to me. I wouldn’t give it up for the world. It’s just too much fun.

Heck, I even started a web site about it I love it so much. I know it’s so fun and builds great character and relationships with people. I have this great urge to share what I’ve found with everyone I can. So I figured having a web site about skateboarding would be a great way to show people how fun it can be.

So I hope that you find the fun in skateboarding. Perhaps some day we will even skate together. Who knows, anything is possible. Skateboarding can bring many stories into your life. It has for me. I hope you find something great in it and start an adventure that you’ll be able to remember for the rest of your life.
